Amuse your youngest guests with one of the most rewarding of our Fourth of July Crafts: A punch game filled with prizes.

Let's face it: Big family gatherings can be...not so fun...for kids sometimes. All those grown-ups, keeping an eye on what you're doing? Strange relatives asking about school? Exactly. But we've found that even small prizes can get little ones in a more festive frame of mind. This punch game adds an element of surprise to getting small gifts, like bouncy balls, balloons and candy.

To make it, you'll need: Foam core board, 20 small disposable cups, tissue paper (red, white and blue), a glue stick, glue dots (or a hot glue gun) and well, prizes. I love the Target dollar section for finding little prizes.

Start by sticking the cups to the foam core, using glue dots or hot glue, forming a 4-cup-by-5-cup rectangle. Fill each cup with a prize. Then, cut 20 squares out of tissue paper: 4 blue, 8 red and 8 white. Each square should be labeled with a number and just big enough to fit over the top of each cup. Next, working a cup at a time, slide the glue stick over a cup rim and then top with a tissue paper square. Keep working a cup at a time until the flag is filled out. For a complete tutorial, visit Bliss.

To play the game, have children pick a number (or, write numbers on slips of paper and let kids pick a numbered slip). Instruct them to punch through the tissue paper for the corresponding number to get their prize.
